When a client comes to HeyCarson, they view all developers whom they work with as members of the company. This means that any refund of escalation bears a reputational risk to the company. A developer who lost a client through a refund or escalation will find another client in the pool of leads offered by HeyCarson, but the company won’t find a new client as easily, especially if the lost one turns into a detractor.
One of our goals at HeyCarson is to retain as many happy clients as possible and build partner relationships with them, and with this in mind, we have crafted our refund policy.
Full Refund:
According to our refund policy, all refunds are subject to a 10% admin fee to cover Stripe transaction fees and the time and resources invested by the company to match the lead with the freelancer. In order to retain the client, maintain good relationships with him/her, and secure the chance of future sales to this client, the company will offer a full refund to the client but the freelancer will cover the 10% admin for the company by subtracting this amount from his/her next invoice.
Example:
A 10 hr pack fully refunded to a client:
$950 * 10% = $95 (admin fee)
$950 refunded to the client in full. The developer covers 10% to the company → subtracts $95 from his/her next invoice.
Partial Refund:
In cases where a developer has delivered part of the project and the client requests a partial refund, the developer will be paid out for the hours of delivered work but a 10% admin fee shall be subtracted from this amount.
Example:
A 10 hr pack where 5 hours shall be refunded to a client:
$950 * 10% = $95 (admin fee)
5 hrs returned to the client = $475
5 hrs paid out to developer - 10% fee = $475 - $95 = $380 shall be included in the developer's invoice for this project
Refunds to Agencies:
HeyCarson provides services to agencies under the expectation that agencies possess the necessary expertise to act as an intermediary party, facilitating communication with non-technical clients. We do not grant refunds to agencies. If an agency contacts you and offers to engage you in providing services to their clients through them, please ensure that:
The contact person from the agency fully understands that the money they pay us is not refundable
Their requests will be within the scope of services that you offer and they know this scope and limitations
