Appalling. The contract submitted for approval was weighted heavily towards them and not the customer. The scope was quite broad, with a lot of “review”, “audit”, and “improve” language, but no defined outputs. There were no measurable outcomes tied to the work. I’m not expecting guarantees on rankings of course, but I do want clear indicators of success, whether that’s improvements in indexation, crawlability, site performance, or other agreed metrics. They couldn’t commit to any! I also noted that work may be subcontracted. That’s fine in principle, but there’s no transparency on who is actually doing the work and assurance on quality control from their side. There’s no defined timeframe in the agreement. Not even a clear delivery window so this doesn’t remain open-ended. There’s no work review or approval process before final invoicing, along with a summary of what has been implemented. Finally, after raising this, they slowed communication, then walked away citing a very weak and poor excuse (they don’t do SEO keywords despite detailing 4 points in an earlier email). To be honest, this gave me a real novice, one man band feel who outsources his work to India with no quality of work grantee or to even detail what he will do for it. Very poor.

Where do we begin?!! Our relationship with Acorns has blossomed into a one-stop shop for anything and all things Shopify related. The team is easy to work with and communicates timely. We started out working just on PPC but quickly moved into several other aspects of our website needs. This included a large content update and an automation project linking our CMS system with our website. Anything I throw at them is doable, the work is done right and they complete everything on time which is hard to come by in this space! Highly recommended and very professional. I am glad we found Acorns!
