Find the Best Shopify Experts in the Philippines
The Philippine Shopify bench on shopexperts is small and setup-focused. As of October 2026, 3 Shopify experts in the Philippines have profiles here: one agency and two freelancers.
Store setup is on all three profiles, which matches what a Philippine store needs first. Shopify doesn't offer its own payment processing to businesses here, so a build starts by choosing and connecting a third-party payment provider, then pricing in pesos and keying in tax rates by hand.
Two of the three also list Shopify development, for theme and custom work once the store is trading. All three work in English, which fits Shopify's own language support here: admin and checkout run in English, not Filipino.
Start with the three local profiles, then the regional experts further down. One short brief sent to your best two or three gets you quotes you can weigh side by side.

A small, setup-focused bench
Three profiles. As of October 2026, shopexperts lists one agency and two freelancers based in the Philippines. That's a short list. Better to know it before you start than to assume there's a deep local market to shop around in.
Setup on every profile. All three list Store Setup and Management. Two list Shopify Development, one lists Consulting and Strategy, and one lists Design, UX and Branding. In practice, the local experts are strongest at getting a store configured and trading, with development cover for theme changes and custom features afterwards.
English is the working language. Every profile lists English, and no other language appears. For most Philippine stores that's no handicap, since the Shopify admin and checkout available here don't include Filipino anyway.
What this means for choosing. If you want one accountable team for launch, design and strategy, the agency is the natural first call. If you have a clear brief and want a single person doing the build, the two freelancers are worth a conversation.
Reading the whole list. The three Philippines-based experts appear first. Below them sit agencies and freelancers abroad who work with Asian merchants. With only three local profiles, most stores will end up reading both parts of the list, and that's fine: much of a Shopify build happens in the admin, not across a desk.
Three local profiles: when to look further down the list
With three local profiles, the real decision for a Philippine store isn't which local expert to hire. It's whether the job needs someone local at all.
Hire locally when the work touches the physical business. Setting up point of sale in a shop, training the staff who will process orders, or running workshops with a founder who prefers to sit across a table: these are easier with someone who can be in the room.
Look further down the list when the job is specialist. No expert based here lists marketing, copywriting, technical support or tax and compliance as a category. If your brief leans on any of those, the regional experts below the local profiles widen the field considerably.
Start with payments either way. Any developer worth hiring should ask which third-party payment provider you plan to use before quoting, because that choice shapes checkout, payouts and testing. An expert who quotes a full build without asking hasn't done one here.
Send the same brief to everyone. Include your product count, the platform you're leaving if any, where you ship, whether you also trade from a physical shop, and who will hold the store and payment accounts. Two or three quotes against one brief tell you more than ten profile visits.
What changes when your store is registered in the Philippines
Five things set a Philippine store's Shopify set-up apart, and all five belong in the first scoping call.
No Shopify Payments. Shopify's own payment processing isn't open to Philippine businesses. Checkout has to be wired to a third-party payment provider of your choosing, and that choice decides which payment methods customers see, how refunds work and when money reaches your account. Ask your expert which providers they've connected for stores here and what testing they run before launch. If payments are the whole job, payment gateway specialists are a narrower hire.
Pesos, set before anything else. The store currency is the Philippine peso (PHP). Confirm it before importing products, because the currency drives how every price is entered.
Till hardware means a retailer, not Shopify. Shopify won't ship devices from its hardware store to the Philippines. It points merchants here to third-party retailers instead, so an expert setting up a shop counter should confirm each card reader, printer and scanner is a supported model before you buy.
Tax is entered by hand. Manual Tax is the only option here: no Shopify Tax, no Basic Tax. You or your expert set the rates, decide which products and shipping charges are taxed, and update them when rules change. Third-party tax apps are allowed too. Ask for the settings to be checked against your accountant's advice, not guessed.
English admin and checkout. Shopify supports English for both and Filipino for neither. Plan storefront copy in English, and treat any Filipino content as a theme and copywriting job.
Four categories across three Philippine profiles
Every category listed by experts based in the Philippines, and how many offer it:
Store Setup and Management
Offered by all 3 local experts: configuration, products and launch
Shopify Development
Two of the three, for theme changes and custom features
Consulting and Strategy
One of the three, for planning before you build or replatform
Design, UX and Branding
One of the three, covering storefront look, layout and brand
Questions from Philippine merchants
Count the disciplines in the job. A freelancer suits a defined build with one decision-maker on your side, such as moving a small catalogue onto a new theme. An agency suits work that spans design, strategy and development, or a store that needs someone on call when the main contact is away. With only three local profiles, it's worth talking to all three before you decide.
Work down the listing, or try the pages for Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and Hong Kong. One check matters more than distance: stores based in Singapore, Australia and Hong Kong can use Shopify Payments, while stores in the Philippines and Malaysia can't. An expert whose clients all use Shopify Payments may never have connected a third-party provider, so ask to see one they've set up.
The payment step, above all. Ask for links to a few stores they built or still maintain, ideally selling to Philippine customers, and place a small test order. That step runs on a third-party provider here, and it's where a weak set-up shows first. Then ask one of those store owners how the project went on deadlines and communication.
Yes, and it's an underused hire. A few hours of hands-on training on orders, products, discounts and reports can save a store more than a redesign would. It's also a low-risk way to test working with someone before handing them a larger project. Ask for a short written guide at the end so new staff can follow the same steps.
Ask directly how many migrations they've done and from which platforms. A careful migration includes a product and customer data map, a sample import you can check, and redirects from every old URL so search traffic follows you. The payment provider gets set up fresh, whichever platform you're leaving.
