Remote Shopify Experts for Thailand
A store based in Thailand has to source two things Shopify supplies directly in some other markets: a way to take payments and the hardware for a shop counter. Shopify Payments isn't available there, and Shopify won't send POS hardware to Thailand from its own store, so both come from third parties.
Thailand doesn't yet have a real local bench on shopexperts. Everyone listed below is a remote option: Shopify experts for Thailand stores who live in other countries and accept Asian clients. The ones worth hiring have already connected a third-party provider to a THB store and launched a Thai-language checkout.
Write a short brief that covers your online store and your shop, if you have one, and ask two or three experts to quote on it.

Hiring Shopify experts for Thailand while the local bench is thin
Experts based in Thailand are scarce on shopexperts for now, and this page won't pretend otherwise. The people listed work from other countries and take clients across Asia. Hiring one is routine. Hiring one badly usually comes down to four things nobody agreed at the start.
When they're awake. Overlapping hours matter most around launch, and a Thai store opening a shop counter alongside its website has two launches to cover. Ask for a named contact and a reply-time commitment for that stretch, not a general promise to be responsive.
What the invoice is priced in. Your sales land in THB; the invoice may not. Fix the contract currency, and who absorbs bank charges, in the signed agreement rather than in a chat thread you'll struggle to find later.
Whose name is on everything. Without Shopify Payments, a Thai store signs a separate contract with its payment provider. That contract, the Shopify account and the domain should all carry your business's name. A remote expert needs staff access and nothing beyond it, switched off when the project ends.
Who they've done it for. Get a link to a Thai-language store they built that trades with customers in Thailand, and ask which payment provider sits behind it. Make a test purchase. If an expert has only built stores in markets where Shopify Payments works, they'll be learning the hardest part of your project on your budget.
Vetting a remote expert for a Thai shop and online store
Ask three blunt questions. Put these to every expert on your shortlist. Which payment provider did you connect for a THB store, and how did you test a declined card? Who on your team proofreads Thai? How would you set up Shopify POS for a shop you'll never visit? Good experts answer with specifics. Weak ones describe their process in general terms and hope you don't push.
Run a paid pilot. Choose a small job with a clear finish line: entering Manual Tax rates on a test store and recording a screen video of a test order, or reviewing your order confirmation and shipping emails in Thai. Pay the full rate. A pilot priced at nothing tells you nothing about how someone works against a real deadline.
Give them a Thailand-specific brief. Include your SKU count; whether you sell from a shop, a market stall or online only; the payment provider you've picked or shortlisted; THB as the store currency; the languages you need; and whether you ship outside Thailand. List any POS devices you already own so the expert can check them against Shopify's supported hardware before quoting. A brief that leaves out the shop gets you a quote that leaves it out too.
Shopify in Thailand: what's built in and what isn't
Payments need a third party. Shopify's docs leave no room here: with no Shopify Payments, a store based in Thailand has to connect an outside payment provider. The store currency is the Thai baht. Your expert's work here is integration and testing (real THB orders, refunds and failed payments) before launch day, not after it. Payment gateway specialists do exactly this.
POS hardware comes from retailers. Supported devices for a Thai counter are bought from third-party retailers rather than from Shopify. A good expert sends you a list of exact models, checked against Shopify's supported hardware, so you aren't returning a receipt printer that won't connect.
Tax is entirely manual. Thailand isn't covered by Shopify Tax or Basic Tax. You set and maintain each rate under Manual Tax, or hand the job to a third-party tax app instead. Shopify publishes no Thailand-specific tax guide either, so have your accountant sign off every rate before launch.
Thai works on Shopify's own screens. Thai is a supported language for both the Shopify admin and checkout: your team processes orders in Thai, your customers pay in Thai. Your theme, product copy and any app widgets are separate. Ask your expert to review every page in Thai on a phone before launch.
The jobs behind a Thai Shopify launch
If you run a shop counter as well as a website, the first two come before anything else:
Payment provider connection
A third-party gateway for THB, tested with refunds and declines
Shopify POS rollout
Supported hardware sourced from retailers and staff trained to use it
Thai-language storefront
Line breaks, product titles and emails checked in Thai on a phone
Manual Tax set-up
Accountant-approved rates entered and checked on a test order
Selling outside Thailand
Currencies, shipping zones and duties for overseas buyers
Moving to Shopify
Catalogue, customers and URL redirects migrated from another platform
What Thai merchants ask before hiring remote Shopify help
An agency, usually. POS training, hardware checks and the online build all land in the same few weeks, and one person juggling both tends to let one slip. A freelancer is enough if you stagger the launches, putting the web store live first and adding the counter once it's stable.
Not one we can publish: shopexperts doesn't show a Thailand price range. What you can control is how quotes are built. Ask each expert to cost the payment integration, POS set-up, Thai content, tax configuration and any migration as separate lines, so you can see which one is driving the total.
For the hardware, yes. Locations, staff accounts, products, taxes and receipts can all be configured remotely, but someone at the shop has to unbox, connect and test the devices. Ask the expert for a scheduled video session on the day your devices arrive, with a checklist they send in advance. That one call saves most of the back-and-forth.
Online first, in most cases. Get the payment provider, tax rates and Thai checkout working on the web store, run real orders for a couple of weeks, and only then add POS. By that point your products, prices and tax settings are proven, and the counter inherits them. Launching both at once doubles the number of things that can fail on day one.
Shopify supports Thai, but your theme decides how it looks. Thai is written without spaces between words, so long product titles, menu items and buttons can break in odd places or overflow on a theme designed around English. Ask your developer to load real Thai copy rather than placeholder text and check every template on a phone. Fixing it is usually a styling job, not a rebuild.
