Unity Road is a US sock brand making socks from TENCEL, with a giving model that funds school building in Guatemala. It launched with nine products and plans to reach around forty within two years.
Customers who care what their clothes are made of and will pay more for a better material and a brand that gives back.
Launch a store from nothing by a fixed September date. The store needed to feel premium and minimal, explain why TENCEL is worth paying for, support bundles and digital gift cards at launch, and scale from nine products to forty without a rebuild.
There was no store. The brand's argument depends on a material comparison and a giving story that stock Dawn sections cannot present well, and the usual fix is a stack of paid apps that add monthly cost and slow the storefront.
I built the store on Dawn 15.4.1, connected to GitHub with separate live and development branches. Everything custom was built as theme sections and small Web Components, and bundling used Shopify's free native app, so nothing paid was added to the storefront.
Bespoke sections for a split hero, featured collection, brand story and a TENCEL versus organic cotton comparison table.
A cart drawer with a free shipping progress bar that excludes digital gift cards from the threshold, plus a gift card upsell.
Complementary products driven by metafields.
A fixed, scrollable product gallery and a find my fit size guide.
Bundle sets with tiered discount blocks on Shopify Bundles.
Colour variant tiles and collection filters through Search & Discovery.
GA4, homepage SEO title and meta description, and policy pages linked in the footer.
The store went live on the client's September date and took orders on day one. The owner has a git-backed theme she can keep editing, and has come back for a second phase.
