Find the Best Shopify Experts in Belgium
Belgium asks you to settle the language question before the design one. Shopify's checkout supports Dutch, French and German here, and the Shopify experts in Belgium on shopexperts cover two of those: four list Dutch, four list French, and all seven list English.
Those seven are based in Belgium as of October 2026, and every one is an agency, with Brussels named on most of their profiles. All of them list store set-up, development, marketing and consulting. More of them list finance, tax and compliance work (five) than copywriting (four), and for a store that has to work in two languages, that balance is worth noticing.
Decide which languages your store needs at launch, then compare the profiles below with that in mind and request quotes from the agencies that cover them.

I build Shopify stores that survive $1M+ sales days, high-traffic launches, and zero-downtime requirements. Senior Shopify Developer with 8+ years of experience building, scaling, and operating high-traffic Shopify storefronts for sports, entertainment, and hospitality brands. I’ve worked on Shopify ecommerce systems for organizations including Chicago Bulls, Denver Nuggets, Michigan State Football, OKC Thunder, Call of Duty, Four Seasons Hospitality, Coco5, Forme, and others — supporting $1M+ single-day sales, $500K+ launch days, and enterprise-scale inventories exceeding $60B across North America. My expertise spans Shopify 2.0 theme builds, advanced customizations, custom app development, and performance optimization for stores where downtime, slow checkout, or failed launches are not acceptable. I also run and operate my own Shopify store, which means every engagement is approached with an operator’s mindset — prioritizing conversion, scalability, clean architecture, and long-term maintainability over shortcuts or quick fixes. Best suited for brands doing real volume — or preparing for it.

Shopify expert specializing in speed optimization, theme customization, and troubleshooting. 10+ years of experience and 10,000+ completed projects. I help stores improve performance, fix issues fast, and create clean, conversion-focused experiences.
I fix wholesale operations for coffee roasters and CPG brands on Shopify. Most wholesale runs on customer tags, spreadsheets and email reorders until it stops scaling. I set up proper company accounts with per-account pricing that applies automatically at checkout, real net terms, and a reorder flow your accounts use themselves, so your team stops hand-entering orders. Recent work: a Philadelphia-area coffee roaster moved ~40 wholesale accounts onto company pricing, with automated wholesale-versus-retail delivery rules at checkout. Another roaster runs 240+ wholesale accounts through the system we built. Typical engagement is a wholesale setup on your existing store, then ongoing support as your wholesale grows. I'm not the right fit for one-off theme work or open-ended custom builds.

Belgium's seven: all agencies, split by language
Agencies only, for now. All seven experts based in Belgium on shopexperts are agencies. That suits a full build, a rebrand or a migration. For a quick fix or a single integration, a freelancer from further down the listing may be the better fit.
Brussels is the main base. Most of the seven name it, which is convenient if you want to meet in person. If you're happy on video calls, an agency's address won't change the quality of your store.
Match the agency to your languages. Dutch and French each appear on only some of the seven profiles, so not every agency covers both. Two list Italian and one lists Spanish. None lists German, so if you want a German-language version, expect to find its writer outside the local list. If your store must work for Dutch- and French-speaking customers from day one, ask each agency who on their team writes and reviews each language, not just whether they "do" it.
Strong on tax, lighter on copy. All seven cover four core categories: Consulting & Strategy, Marketing & Growth, Shopify Development and Store Setup & Management. Five list Design, UX & Branding and five list Finance, Taxes & Compliance, against four for Copywriting & Content. For a multilingual store, that gap matters: content in two or three languages is often the bigger job.
How the listing below works. The Belgian agencies appear first. The rest of the list is experts from other countries with European clients, which widens the choice if none of the seven fits.
Hiring inside Belgium or across the border
Hire in Belgium when compliance and languages overlap. A store that needs Dutch and French at launch and has VAT obligations beyond Belgium plays to what the local agencies list most. That combination is harder to brief to someone who has never sold here.
Go wider for narrow or single-language jobs. If you need one specialist for a defined task, such as a theme section, a speed audit or a product feed, the experts listed after the Belgian agencies give you single-person options the local list doesn't. For a store in one language, agencies across the border in the Netherlands or France are worth a look too.
Set a language test. Ask any shortlisted expert, local or not, to review your French or Dutch checkout and one product page and tell you what reads wrong. The answer shows quickly whether they can support customers in that language.
Look at what they've shipped for Belgium. Ask for a live store they built for Belgian customers and switch it between French and Dutch. You'll see whether Bancontact shows at checkout and how carefully each language was finished.
Give each language one owner. Splitting the build between a local agency and a remote one is fine; splitting a language between two writers isn't. One named owner per language keeps product copy, emails and policies consistent.
What makes a Belgian Shopify set-up different
Bancontact through Shopify Payments. Belgian stores can run on Shopify Payments, with euro payouts. Shopify's documentation lists Bancontact as a local payment method for stores here, available through Shopify Payments. An expert who knows the market switches it on during set-up rather than treating it as an extra.
Checkout in Dutch, French or German. Shopify supports all three in the admin and the checkout. Staff can run the back office in their language while customers check out in theirs; what your expert needs to plan is the translated storefront content around it.
VAT settings for a Belgian store. Belgium uses Shopify's EU VAT set-up, with Shopify Tax available and Manual Tax as the alternative. Basic Tax stays limited to stores that were already charging EU tax when 13 May 2026 came round. For EU-wide sales reported through the Union One-Stop Shop, only Shopify Tax, or Basic Tax where the store qualifies, will do, because Manual Tax can't be combined with OSS.
Returns are your accountant's job. Filing and paying EU VAT stays outside Shopify entirely, so even an agency that lists tax work should ask who files for you and set the store up to match.
Point of sale. Belgian merchants can buy POS hardware directly from Shopify's hardware store. Once Shopify Payments is active, staff phones can double as card readers in Shopify POS with Tap to Pay on Android and iPhone.

Questions about Shopify experts in Belgium
Only if you can maintain both. Two half-finished languages do more harm than one complete one with a clear date for the second. Start with the language of your largest customer group, then add the other once product copy, emails and policies are ready. Your agency should structure the store for both from day one, so adding the second doesn't mean a rebuild.
Not always. If you sell only in Belgium, any competent agency can configure tax with your accountant's input. It becomes worth it once you sell across the EU, run a shop and an online store side by side, or carry products taxed at different rates. Ask what they've configured before and what they leave to your accountant.
The parts around the product pages: a French checkout next to Dutch-only product pages, emails sent in the wrong language, or policies that exist in one language only. Customers notice. Ask each agency how they decide which language a customer's emails go out in, and how they test every flow in both languages before go-live.
By project for the build, by month only once the store is live and you know what ongoing work looks like. A retainer signed before launch tends to pay for idle hours. Agree a fixed scope for set-up, then review after a few months whether you need regular hours for content in each language, campaigns or fixes.
Then introduce them to your expert before any tax settings are configured. Your accountant decides how you report, including OSS if you sell to other EU countries; the expert turns that into Shopify settings. Ask the expert for a short written note of what they configured and why, so your accountant can sign it off and the next agency can follow it.
