Find the Best Shopify Experts in Denmark
A Danish store can take MobilePay through Shopify Payments, sell over the counter on hardware bought straight from Shopify, and get paid in krone. The pieces are all there. What a Danish store needs is someone who connects them, so the till and the website agree on stock, prices and refunds.
Ten Shopify experts in Denmark appear on shopexperts as of October 2026, and all 10 are agencies, from Copenhagen to Aalborg and Kolding. All of them list store setup and management, nine add Shopify development, and eight add marketing and growth. Eight also list Danish on their profiles.
If you sell in a shop as well as online, ask the agencies below about their retail work before anything else. Their answers will narrow the list quickly.

I'm a Shopify developer and consultant. I build and grow Shopify stores end-to-end - new builds, migrations off legacy platforms, redesigns, and post-launch growth work like CRO and automation. Before consulting, I built and ran my own e-commerce brand to strong six-figure monthly revenue, then sold it so I approach stores as an operator who's had to make them profitable, not just as a developer who ships features. Stack: Shopify Liquid, Shopify Functions & Hydrogen, Next.js/Vercel for custom storefronts, and integrations with tools like Klaviyo, GA4, and Meta Conversions API. I also handle brand and UI design, having started out as a designer before moving into development. I work directly with clients on every project, bringing in specialists when a scope calls for it.

Obsession runs AI customers for Shopify stores. Each one shops your store the way a real customer does: it signs up, browses, leaves a basket and goes up to the payment step, then watches the inbox for 48 hours and hands back screenshots of everything it met. What stores bring us: - A checkout, cart or page that broke after a theme update or an app install - Ad clicks that don't turn into orders: we walk from the live ad's page to the payment step and show the step that loses the sale - Discount codes that don't apply - Welcome, abandoned basket and post-purchase emails that stopped sending After the fix, the same customer runs again, so you can see it's done. Stack: Shopify, real browsers on phone and desktop, and any email platform (Klaviyo, Omnisend, Shopify Email and others), because we read what actually lands in the inbox. Run by Obsession's two co-founders. useobsession.com
I take what a brand feels but can't quite show, and give it a body: a brand people recognise, a magazine, a clear website, renders that look like photos. From the first idea to the final file, you always talk to me. I'm an independent designer working between Tuscany and Milan with companies and agencies. I design visual identities, labels, catalogues, magazines and event graphics. I take brands online with custom websites and e-commerce, from design to launch. And I build in 3D what doesn't exist yet: interiors, displays and retail fixtures, with renders, photomontages and technical drawings for whoever makes them. On Shopify: Essere Bio · Online shop and social media — A Shopify store with pages designed from scratch, an English version and a Figma system for social carousels, for FUL Agency. Hello there! I’m Aaron, a Shopify developer with 10+ years of experience building custom Shopify themes, developing apps and improving existing stores. I'm also a Shopify Partner and the developer behind two published Shopify apps: Password Lock Products and Pages, and Upload Field: Forms and Products. I work with ecommerce businesses that need more than basic theme customisation. Whether it's building a custom Shopify theme, developing bespoke functionality, improving storefront performance or integrating external services, I can help turn complicated requirements into practical, maintainable solutions. What I can help with: Custom Shopify theme development using Liquid, JavaScript, HTML and CSS Shopify 2.0 theme development, rebuilds and migrations Figma to Shopify development and responsive implementation Shopify app development and custom storefront functionality Custom Shopify sections, templates, snippets and metafields Product, collection, cart and landing page customisation Shopify Plus development and advanced storefront requirements Shopify speed optimisation and Core Web Vitals improvements Theme performance audits, app bloat and unnecessary script clean-up API integrations and connecting Shopify with external services Klaviyo integrations, including custom forms and data connections AJAX carts, product bundles, custom forms and other bespoke features Ongoing Shopify development, maintenance and technical support Experience across different ecommerce businesses: I've worked with Shopify stores across a range of industries and business models, including campaign-led documentary releases, sustainable retail brands, product-heavy catalogues, fashion, lifestyle and subscription businesses. This includes everything from complete storefront builds and theme customisation to ongoing development, complex product requirements and improving existing ecommerce experiences. Examples of the work I handle: Building custom Shopify theme architecture using Liquid, JSON templates, sections, snippets and metafields. Turning Figma designs into responsive Shopify sections and templates with practical merchant controls. Improving product and collection pages for stores with more complex browsing and buying journeys. Reducing app bloat, improving script loading, implementing lazy loading and fixing layout stability issues. Developing custom Shopify functionality, including AJAX carts, bundles, forms and integrations. Connecting Shopify with external platforms and services, including Klaviyo. Supporting regular campaign, product, design and content updates for growing ecommerce stores. Tech stack and tools: Themes: Liquid, CSS, JavaScript, Shopify CLI Apps: React Router, TypeScript, Prisma, Shopify Functions, Polaris, hosted on Render Speed and accessibility checks with Lighthouse, and Klaviyo integrations Projects I’m proud of: Custom theme work for Original Duckhead, CREATORVC and Water Gardening Direct. The case studies are on idwithin.com. Upload Field: Forms & Products, a published Shopify app that lets customers upload files on product pages. I built it after a client needed it. Integrating with Klaviyo and other form builders. Password Lock Products & Pages, a live app that lets merchants password protect products and pages, including blocking purchases at checkout. idwithin.com itself, a working Shopify store that doubles as my portfolio, so you can test the cart, filters and search and anything else yourself! I’m also preparing this theme to be submitted for the Shopify Theme Store. How I work: I keep the process straightforward. You bring me the store, design or problem, and I'll work out the cleanest Shopify approach before building it in a way that's practical to maintain after launch. I'm comfortable working on existing themes, troubleshooting code written by others, developing new functionality or taking a project from Figma through to a finished Shopify storefront. I also understand that not every problem needs another paid app or an unnecessarily complicated solution. Sometimes the better option is a small, well-built piece of custom code. If you're looking for a Shopify developer who can work directly with your theme, understand the underlying code and help you build or improve your store, send me a message. Tell me what you're working on, or send me your store URL and explain what's slow, broken or needs improving. We can work out the best way forward.
Shopify developer for 10 years, working mostly on Shopify. I've launched 50+ stores and worked directly with brands like Steve Madden (US and South Africa stores, Dolce Vita, Betsey Johnson). What I do: new store setups, Figma to Shopify, theme customisation and front-end, custom apps and theme app extensions, migrations, integrations and ongoing support. Projects I'm proud of: Keanes (Irish jeweller): theme adapted to their new design, custom engraving, and Rolex, Patek Philippe and Tudor pages built with their IT teams to each brand's retailer rules. A custom 3D product configurator app (Three.js) for a furniture store, which led to my own app, Ochi 3D, now on the Shopify App Store. Migrations to Shopify: Foxford (WooCommerce), McCabes Pharmacy (Magento), Anthony Ryans (Shopware, thousands of products). Elverys: omnichannel app with a theme app extension for in-store stock and 1-hour click & collect. Stack: Liquid, JavaScript, Shopify APIs (Admin and Storefront), Online Store 2.0, theme app extensions, Shopify Functions, checkout extensions, metaobjects, Node and Vercel, Three.js. Based in Portugal, remote. I work in English and Portuguese, and you always talk to the person doing the work. galantelabs.com
Ten agencies, no freelancers: what that means for a Danish store
All ten experts based in Denmark are agencies; there are no freelancers on the Danish list. That's a strength for anything with several moving parts, such as a migration plus a new theme plus POS for a shop. It's a weakness for a quick fix, where an agency's minimum engagement can outweigh the job itself.
Danish isn't universal. Eight of the ten list Danish and nine list English. Swedish, Norwegian and French each appear on one profile. If Danish copy or Danish-speaking support matters, check for it before you look at portfolios. For the two that don't list it, ask rather than assume.
Build and growth under one roof. Beyond setup, development and marketing, which most of the ten list, consulting and strategy appears on six, design, UX and branding on five, and copywriting and content on three. Finance, taxes and compliance appears on two.
Spread across the country. Copenhagen is the city named most often, but other profiles are in Aalborg, Randers, Viborg, Holstebro, Kolding and Køge. For an online-only store, location is irrelevant. For a shop, an agency within reach can be there on installation day; otherwise ask whether it will travel or expects you to plug the hardware in yourself.
Reading the listing. The ten experts based in Denmark come first. Further down, the page moves on to profiles from beyond Denmark that sell their services to European stores, the place to look for an independent developer or a narrow specialist.
A Danish agency or an independent from elsewhere?
With no freelancers on the Danish list, the real decision is scale. Match the size of the team to the size of the job.
Retail plus online: stay local. A shop roll-out involves hardware, staff training, card payments at the counter and a stock count that has to match the website. A local agency can be in the room for the parts that go wrong in person.
A defined fix: look further down. A theme bug, an app integration or a speed problem rarely needs an agency's project management. The regional experts further down the listing are where to look for a one-person engagement on fixed-scope work.
Ask for Danish references. Whoever you hire, ask to see a store of theirs that's trading in Denmark today. Check that MobilePay appears at checkout and that the Danish copy reads as if it was written in Danish, not run through a translator.
Decide who answers when hardware fails. When a card reader stops working on a busy Saturday, you need to know whether your agency or Shopify's own support picks up. Put that in the agreement before the shop opens, along with the hours your agency actually covers.
Running Shopify online and over the counter in Denmark
Payments and payouts. Stores based in Denmark can sign up for Shopify Payments and receive payouts in Danish krone (DKK). Shopify's docs list MobilePay as a local payment method available through Shopify Payments here, so a good expert switches it on and tests a real transaction rather than assuming it works.
Hardware straight from Shopify. Shopify sells POS hardware directly to Danish merchants through its hardware store, which keeps compatibility questions simple. For a lighter set-up, Tap to Pay turns an iPhone or an Android phone into a card terminal for Shopify POS, as long as Shopify Payments is switched on. Phones suit queue-busting and events; the counter itself usually wants a card reader and a receipt printer.
VAT settings. Denmark charges EU VAT. Danish stores can use Shopify Tax, with Manual Tax as the hands-on alternative. Reporting cross-border consumer sales through Union OSS requires one of two engines, Shopify Tax or Basic Tax. Basic Tax is available only where a store's EU tax set-up predates 13 May 2026.
Shopify handles the calculation and nothing after it. Danish VAT returns and payments stay with you and your accountant, so ask your expert to leave a short note of the tax settings they chose.
Danish throughout. The Shopify admin and checkout both support Danish, so staff at the till and shoppers online see the same language. Receipts, emails and product copy are part of the build and need a Danish writer.

Shopify help for a Danish store: your questions
It depends on what small means. A store with a modest catalogue and no physical shop can launch with one capable developer, and an agency adds project management you may not need. If you plan a shop or several sales channels within the year, an agency's broader team pays for itself early.
This page doesn't publish a Danish price range yet. Quotes move with catalogue size, design work, POS scope and integrations with stock or accounting systems. Ask each agency to price a written scope at a fixed fee, and ask what their hourly rate is for changes after sign-off. That last figure is where budgets usually slip.
Only once the Danish store runs smoothly. Each new country brings its own currency, shipping rates, returns handling and tax set-up, and splitting attention early tends to weaken the home market. When you're ready, ask your agency whether it has live stores selling in those countries, and whether it recommends one store or several.
Say whether you sell online only or also in a shop, how many locations and tills you run, and which payment methods you want at checkout, MobilePay included. List catalogue size, current platform, selling languages, your VAT and OSS position and every system the new store has to talk to. Close with your target opening date and a realistic budget band.
Make sure you own the Shopify account, domain and app subscriptions first; if the old agency does, transfer them before giving notice. Ask for a handover covering theme versions, custom code, app settings and POS configuration. Then invite the new agency as a collaborator and remove the old one only after the new team confirms it has everything.
