Find the Best Shopify Experts in Norway

Norway isn't a Shopify Tax region. That single fact changes how a Norwegian store gets set up, and it makes a good first question for any expert you're considering, local or not.

As of October 2026, shopexperts lists three Shopify experts in Norway. All three are agencies, based in Oslo and Kristiansand, and all three list the same five services: copywriting and content, consulting and strategy, store setup and management, Shopify development, and marketing and growth. Every one lists Norwegian, and two also list finance, taxes and compliance.

So the local choice is between three full-service teams, not a puzzle of separate specialists to assemble. Read the three profiles below, then ask each for a scoped quote against the same written brief and compare how they plan the tax set-up.

I have over five years of experience in web development using technologies such as Shopify, Angular, Node.js, JavaScript, React, Vue, MongoDB, MySQL, and PHP. My journey with Shopify started when I joined Hey Carson, now known as 'Shop Experts', successfully completing their trial period. I have gained significant experience in Shopify development. I've worked in complex tasks such as integrating Shopify apps, Shopify Admin API, custom design development, apps extensions development, theme development and much more. Over the past few years, I've acquired what I believe is a solid understanding of Shopify development, which helps me deliver high-quality solutions to the clients I've worked with.

Shopify speed and ad tracking fixes: for stores where the ads bring visitors but not sales I help Shopify stores sell more to the visitors you already pay to bring in. I find the spots where shoppers give up, and then I fix them. One example. A clothing brand's product pages took 15.4 seconds to load. Five weeks before Black Friday, I got them to 7.4 seconds. That is the job: I find what slows your store down, and I fix it. The same work keeps finding a second problem: numbers you cannot trust. The code that tells Meta or Google about a sale fires twice, so sales count double. Ads run across every product, with no check on which ones earn. Apps bill every month for work nobody has measured. So I also check what your money is really doing, instead of trusting what Google, Meta and the apps say. Then I fix what I find. I work with established stores run by their founders. To me, speed and ad spend are sales problems, not technical boxes to tick. What I work on, eight ways in: Speed check. I measure how fast your pages load for real shoppers on a phone. I find what makes them wait, and I fix it. Accessibility check. I test your store the way a keyboard user or a screen reader meets it. I check whether a widget sits on top of problems it does not fix. You get the findings in the order a complaint would reach them. Shopify deadline check. Shopify changes its rules on set dates. Scripts ended on 30 June. Order status script tags ended on 26 August. I find what has already stopped working on your store and what is dated ahead, and I make the repairs. Tracking and attribution fix. Meta Pixel, GA4 (Google Analytics) and server-side tracking. I remove the double counting and prove it in your own dashboards. Ad spend by product and the app bill get read in the same pass. Google and Meta recovery. Your products stopped showing on Google or Meta. I find where the connection broke and get them showing again. Sale price check. AI shopping tools, like ChatGPT, now get your "was" prices from Shopify. I check that yours reach them right. Builds and theme upgrades. New sections and modern themes, with your custom work and your tracking still running. Every change to the live site has a way back. Partner Seat. 25 hours a month. I watch speed, the pages customers see, broken links, tracking and app bills. Your work goes first in the queue. Each check is $285. If you go ahead, I take the fee off the fix price. Key results: Product page load time cut from 15.4 seconds to 7.4 seconds, 52% faster. Mobile PageSpeed on product pages from 18 to 28. The apps the client chose stayed in place, at their call. Two apps were billing to track what the store's own Google channel already did. I removed them, checked the tracking was clean, and took $199 a year off the app bill. Repeat clients going back to 2018. One store has come back for 14 projects over four years. How I work: A paid check first. It measures the real problem, no guessing. If you go ahead, I take the fee off the fix price. Work in stages. You approve each one. Every delivery ends with before and after numbers, and a short list of the next things I found. 80+ projects done. Clients in the US, Canada, UK, Australia and Denmark. Send me your store address. I will tell you what slows it down, whether your numbers add up, and what a complaint would find first. No commitment.

Shopify SEO and AEO Consultant–Let's get you found. I built my own Shopify store, The Kind Pet, to $50K in its first year organically with zero ad spend. That's the same structure I build for other stores: collections mapped to how people actually search, content that answers the question before they're asked, and a site that both Google and AI search engines can actually read. After 8+ years working in eCommerce (including building Shopify stores and helping brands double their traffic while growing organic revenue to 30–50% through SEO and conversion strategies), I made the move fully into Shopify growth consulting. What I work on: Site and navigation architecture by user intent Commercial keyword research paired with the collection build-out FAQ and AEO structure–mapped and marked up as schema Internal linking maps built for faster indexing Technical SEO and Core Web Vitals Backlinking SEO Content Marketing Conversion Rate Optimization Recent results: Skincare brand achieving $20K in Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales from organic sales Client organic revenue up 255% in one month, and a separate client up 104% in three months, following collection and keyword restructuring Repeat clients who return project after project once the structure is in place Types of clients: Small to medium-sized merchants Beauty, apparel, hardware, pets, etc. 2-6 year client lifetime–we strive for long-term partnerships Canadian merchants: I charge the same in USD and CAD, so you'll never have to pay for conversion.

Three Norwegian agencies: where they're strong and where they stop

Same model, two cities. All three Norway-based profiles are agencies, in Oslo and Kristiansand. There's no local freelancer, so a small fixed job means either an agency engagement or an independent from further down the listing.

Norwegian copy can stay in-house. All three list Norwegian and English, and two add Swedish. All three also list copywriting and content, so product descriptions, legal pages and order emails in Norwegian can come from the team that builds the store. Ask to see Norwegian copy they've written before you budget for a separate translator.

Design is the thin spot. Only one of the three lists design, UX and branding. If you need a new visual identity rather than a well-configured theme, look closely at that profile, or pair a local build team with a designer from the wider list.

Tax help is close to hand. Two of the three list finance, taxes and compliance. Given how differently Norway's tax set-up works on Shopify, that counts for more here than on a typical build.

Growth and planning sit in-house. Marketing and growth and consulting and strategy appear on all three profiles, so launch campaigns and a roadmap don't need another supplier.

How the listing is ordered. The three experts based in Norway come first. Below them, the list carries on with experts based outside Norway who take European projects, your fallback when all three are busy.

When all three are booked: hiring beyond Norway

Three local agencies can all be fully booked in the same month. Plan for that, and know what to check when you look further afield.

Test outside experts on Norwegian tax. Ask how they'd set up tax for a store based in Norway. A good answer mentions Shopify's Basic Tax service and a tax registration number. If they reach straight for Shopify Tax, they're working from another country's playbook.

Use the Swedish connection. If you sell in Norway and Sweden, talk to the two Norwegian agencies that list Swedish first. Then check the Sweden page for experts whose profiles list Norwegian.

Ask for a Norwegian reference store. A remote expert should be able to point to a live store that sells in Norway and charges in krone. Open it, add something to the cart and go as far as the payment step. Read the Norwegian copy while you're there.

Hire design separately if you need it. Because design is the thin skill locally, a remote designer may well be your first outside hire. Brief the designer with your Norwegian agency on the call, so the team that builds the theme can actually implement what gets designed.

Krone payouts and the Basic Tax route: Norway's set-up

Krone payouts. If your store is based in Norway, you can use Shopify Payments, with payouts in Norwegian krone (NOK) or euro. A store selling mainly in Norway will usually choose krone; ask your expert to set it and put a test order through before launch.

Tax works differently here. Norway isn't a Shopify Tax region. Shopify's help centre lists its Basic Tax service for Norwegian stores, and Basic Tax requires a tax registration number. In practice, the registration needs to be in place before your expert can finish the tax settings, so don't leave it until launch week.

An expert used to stores where Shopify Tax is available may reach for options Norway doesn't offer. Ask them to walk you through the Basic Tax configuration they'd use, and how they'll check the totals against your accountant's figures before the store goes live.

Point of sale. Norwegian orders aren't fulfilled by Shopify's own hardware store. Shopify says merchants in Norway get supported devices through third-party retailers, so have your expert confirm compatibility before you order card readers or receipt printers.

Bokmål on both sides. The Shopify admin and checkout both support Norwegian (Bokmål). Theme text, product copy and emails still need writing, which is where the local agencies' copywriting comes in.

Before you sign with a Norwegian agency: common questions

Norwegian agency or a freelancer abroad: which suits my job?

It depends on how much of the job is Norwegian. A Norwegian agency gives you Norwegian copy, marketing and set-up from one team, which suits a launch or rebuild. A freelancer from elsewhere suits a narrow technical job such as a theme fix or an integration, where language matters less. For anything touching tax settings, favour whoever can show a working Norwegian store.

What should I ask a Norwegian agency on the first call?

Ask who writes the Norwegian copy and whether that person is in-house. Ask how they'd configure Basic Tax and what they need from you to do it. Ask who handles design, since that's the thinner skill locally. Then ask for a timeline that shows your inputs as well as theirs, and what a post-launch support arrangement would cost.

How much does it cost to hire a Shopify expert in Norway?

This page doesn't list a Norwegian price range yet. Scope drives the number: catalogue size, design work, integrations with accounting or stock systems, and the amount of Norwegian copy involved. With only three local agencies, ask all three to quote the same brief, and ask each to show the Basic Tax set-up as its own line so you can see who has priced it properly.

Can I move an existing store to Shopify in Norway?

Yes, and the order of work matters. Products, customers and order history move first, then URL redirects so search traffic follows you. Tax is the step people forget: whatever your old platform did, a Norwegian Shopify store runs on Basic Tax, so the settings are rebuilt rather than copied. Ask your expert to test a handful of real orders against your old system before switching over.

Do I need a tax registration number before launching on Shopify in Norway?

For tax to work as intended, yes: Shopify's Basic Tax service for Norway asks for one. Apply early, then give your expert the number and the date it applies from. Ask them to place a test order before launch showing how tax appears at checkout and on the order confirmation, and keep a screenshot for your accountant.
