Find the Best Shopify Experts in Peru
Every Shopify expert based in Peru on shopexperts is an agency. As of October 2026 there are 6, with Lima the city on their profiles, and all six work in English and Spanish; one adds Italian.
All six cover store setup and management, and five each list development, marketing and growth, and consulting and strategy.
The first thing to test Shopify experts in Peru on is the payment provider. Peru sits outside Shopify Payments' coverage, so every sale in soles goes through a third-party provider you choose, apply to and connect. Get that right and most of the build is routine.
If you want a freelancer, the experts listed after the Lima agencies work with merchants across Latin America. Read the profiles below and send your brief to two or three.

Peru's line-up: agencies only
Six agencies, no freelancers. Peru has 6 Shopify experts based in the country on shopexperts, and every one is an agency. That rules out the cheapest route for small jobs, a solo developer billing a few hours, unless you hire from outside Peru. It also means every local quote carries some project management: worth having on a full build, wasted on a one-line fix.
Lima. It's the city on the profiles, which makes an in-person kick-off easy to arrange for a Lima merchant.
Setup is the common thread. All 6 list Store Setup & Management. Five list Shopify Development, five Marketing & Growth and five Consulting & Strategy, so most can plan, build and then market a store. Design is thinner, with 2 listing Design, UX & Branding. Only 1 lists Finance, Taxes & Compliance, which is a real gap in a country where Shopify hands tax rates entirely to the merchant.
Languages. All six list English and Spanish, and one adds Italian. A Spanish-only brief is fine, and so is running the whole project in English if your team or investors work in it.
Who you'll see first. The Peru-based agencies sit at the top of the listing. Further down are experts outside Peru who also take Latin American clients. That second group is where to look for a freelancer, a design-led studio or a tax specialist.
Hire in Lima or across the region? How to decide
With six local agencies, you can read every profile in an evening. The harder call is whether to hire in Lima at all.
Hire in Peru when the store is Peruvian through and through. Pricing in soles, Spanish product copy and a payment provider Peruvian shoppers already trust are local knowledge. Ask each Lima agency for a live store that already runs that combination.
Go regional for single tasks. A theme tweak, a broken app or one new section doesn't need an agency's overhead. Experts further down the listing take on clients across Latin America and are worth asking for a per-task quote.
Split the work when tax or design matters. With only one local profile listing finance and tax work and two listing design, a store with complex tax obligations or a full rebrand may be better served by a Lima agency for the build plus a specialist from the wider list for that piece. Agree up front who briefs the specialist and who signs off their work. Make one party responsible for the final checkout test, or neither will own it.
Selling in soles: setting up Shopify for a Peruvian store
Several Shopify defaults assume services Peru doesn't get. Here's the order a careful expert works through them.
First, the payment provider. Because Shopify Payments isn't offered to Peruvian stores, an outside payment provider has to take every payment, and the store runs in Peruvian soles (PEN). An expert should confirm the provider supports soles, list the payment methods it adds to checkout, and help with the application, since nothing else can launch until it's approved.
Then tax. On Shopify, Peru is Manual Tax territory: the Shopify Tax and Basic Tax options simply don't exist for Peruvian stores. You decide the rates, and the store charges exactly what's entered, with nothing updating itself. A good expert asks for the rates in writing, from you or your accountant, before typing anything in. Third-party tax apps are allowed if you'd rather automate.
Then in-person selling, if you need it. Card readers and other POS kit have to be bought from third-party retailers in Peru's case, since Shopify's hardware store doesn't send orders there. Have your expert check each item against Shopify's supported hardware before you order, because unsupported kit is a refund request, not a set-up task.
Finally, language. The admin and the checkout both run in Spanish. Your team can work in Spanish day to day, and Peruvian shoppers get a Spanish checkout. Ask the expert to translate anything custom, from shipping notes to order emails, rather than leaving it in English.
Where Peru's six agencies focus
Agencies tick more than one category, so these numbers add up to more than six. Of the 6 based in Peru:
Store Setup & Management
Listed by all 6, the one service every Lima agency offers
Shopify Development
Listed by 5, for themes, custom sections and integrations
Marketing & Growth
Listed by 5, so post-launch campaigns can stay with the same team
Consulting & Strategy
Listed by 5, useful before you commit to a plan or platform
Copywriting & Content
Listed by 4, for product descriptions and page copy
Design, UX & Branding
Only 2 list it, so a design-heavy brief may need the regional experts
Lima agencies and Peruvian stores: what to ask
Usually because they're quoting different jobs. One includes product copy and image edits, another assumes you supply them; one prices the payment provider integration, another leaves it out. Ask each agency for an itemised quote against the same written brief: products, pages, apps, content, payment set-up and post-launch support. Once the line items match, the gap normally shrinks to something you can judge on quality.
Some do. Five of the six list Shopify Development, but the category doesn't tell you whether that includes a private app built only for your store, which is a bigger, separate job. Ask for one example of custom code they've shipped and who maintains it after launch. Many stores need less custom code than they expect, because an existing app from the Shopify App Store usually solves the problem for less.
No. A store in another Peruvian city, or a brand selling into Peru from abroad, can work with a Lima agency or a remote expert just as well. What matters is a fixed weekly call, one named contact on each side and an agreed route for urgent problems. Being in Lima mostly helps for a face-to-face first meeting or for setting up a physical shop.
That depends on the third-party provider you connect, not on Shopify. Each provider brings its own mix of cards and local methods, fees and payout times. Decide which methods your customers expect, then ask your expert to shortlist providers that offer them in soles. Payment gateway specialists can help with the choice.
Only if you write it in. None of the Peru-based profiles lists Technical Support & Maintenance as a separate category, so post-launch care is something to negotiate into the build contract: a set number of support hours, response times and responsibility for app and theme updates. Without it, the first broken checkout after launch arrives as a new quote.
Often, since 4 of the 6 Peru-based profiles list Copywriting & Content. Decide early whether copy is in the quote. Ask for one sample product page before they write the whole catalogue, and agree who signs off on tone and spelling.
