Find the Best Shopify Experts in Greece

Shopify's admin and checkout both work in Greek, and Shopify Payments pays Greek stores in euro. The platform is ready; the harder question is who writes and checks a store your Greek customers will actually read.

On the October 2026 count, shopexperts has 8 Shopify experts in Greece, all in Attica: Athens, Maroúsi and Lávrio. Seven are agencies and one is a freelancer. All eight list store setup and management, seven list Shopify development, and six list marketing and growth.

Only three of the eight list Greek as a language, so check that before you shortlist. The Greek profiles appear first below, with experts from the rest of Europe after them. Send the brief to the two or three that match your job.

Top-rated Shopify experts in Greece

A short Greek list, read closely

Eight experts, nearly all agencies. Seven of the eight are agencies; one is a freelancer. With a list this short, read every profile rather than skimming the first few.

Language matters more than usual. Every Greek profile lists English. Greek appears on three profiles, Italian on two, and French and German on one each. If most of your customers are in Greece, the three Greek-speaking experts are your shortlist for anything customer-facing: product copy, emails, checkout wording and support replies.

Broad skills for eight experts. Store Setup & Management is on all eight profiles and Shopify Development on seven. Marketing & Growth appears on six, Copywriting & Content and Consulting & Strategy on five each, and Design, UX & Branding and Finance, Taxes & Compliance on four. Five list copywriting but only three list Greek, so at least two of those copywriters don't state Greek. Ask which language a copywriter actually writes in.

All in Attica. Athens, Maroúsi and Lávrio are the places named on the profiles. A nearby expert helps if you have a shop that needs POS set up; for an online-only store, location barely matters.

How the page lists experts. Experts based in Greece sit at the top. Everyone below them is based in another country but also takes on merchants in Europe. With eight local profiles, expect to use that second group for extra capacity, a dedicated designer or a freelancer.

Shortlisting when the local list is short

Three questions for every candidate. Do they list Greek? Have they built a store that sells in euro to customers in Greece? Have they set up VAT on Shopify for an EU business? A yes to all three earns a place on the shortlist, wherever the expert is based.

Keep Greek-facing work local. Greek product pages, a checkout that reads naturally and POS for a physical shop are easiest with someone in Greece who writes the language. Hand these jobs to a Greek-speaking team first; it's where local knowledge pays.

Use the wider list for capacity. If you need a dedicated designer, a second developer or a freelancer for a steady flow of small jobs, the experts further down the page add options the Greek list can't. Pair them with a Greek-speaking reviewer for anything customers read.

Pay for a small first job. A handful of translated product pages or a review of your tax settings shows how an expert scopes, communicates and hands over, before you commit to a full build.

What to put in the brief. Product count, languages (Greek only, or Greek and English), whether you sell outside Greece, whether you have a physical shop, and who files your VAT. Ask each expert which parts they'd do themselves and which they'd pass on.

Greek Shopify stores: payments, POS hardware and VAT

Shopify Payments, paid in euro. Greek stores have Shopify Payments, with payouts in euro. Ask your expert to put a real order through and refund it before launch, so you see the whole cycle from checkout to payout.

POS hardware from third-party retailers. Shopify's own hardware store won't send orders to Greece. Shopify's guidance is to buy supported POS hardware from other retailers, so have your expert confirm each device is supported before you pay for it. If you only sell online for now, leave POS out of the first quote.

VAT: two choices for a new store. A store set up in Greece now can use Shopify Tax or Manual Tax. Greek newcomers can't pick Basic Tax: Shopify reserves it for shops whose EU tax was already running before 13 May 2026. Selling to other EU countries through Union OSS rules out Manual Tax, since OSS works only with Shopify Tax or Basic Tax. Filing and paying the VAT stays with you or your accountant, as Shopify doesn't do either.

Greek interface, Greek checkout. Shopify supports Greek in both the admin and the checkout. Your expert should still read through the Greek checkout and order emails before launch, because a store that mixes English and Greek wording looks unfinished.

What Greek merchants ask before hiring a Shopify expert

Is a Greek agency the better route, or a freelancer from elsewhere in Europe?

For a full launch, a Greek agency is the simpler route: seven of the eight local experts are agencies, and one supplier can cover build, marketing and copy. For a steady flow of small jobs, a freelancer is usually cheaper to run, and with one freelancer based in Greece you'll probably find yours further down the page.

Can a non-Greek speaker build a Greek-language Shopify store?

Yes, for the build itself. Greek support in the admin and checkout means the platform does the heavy lifting. Where a non-Greek speaker falls short is the words: hire a Greek-speaking copywriter or translator for product pages, emails and policies, and have them proofread the checkout before launch.

My shop isn't in Athens. Do I need an expert nearby?

Not for most of the work. All eight Greek profiles are in Attica, so a shop in Thessaloniki or on an island will usually work with its expert remotely, and that's fine for the online store, payments and tax settings. For POS, buy only hardware your expert has confirmed is supported, then plan one on-site day, or a long video call, to connect the devices and train staff.

Will a Greek agency keep marketing the store after launch?

Many can: six of the eight local experts list Marketing & Growth. Ask who writes the Greek ad copy and emails, and ask for results from a store they've marketed in Greece rather than general case studies. Agree the monthly reporting you want before the first campaign runs.

Who sets up VAT for a Greek store selling across the EU?

Two people. Your Shopify expert configures the tax method, OSS where it applies, and how VAT shows in prices; four of the eight Greek profiles list Finance, Taxes & Compliance. Your accountant handles registrations and returns. Introduce them before launch so the store's settings match how the returns get filed.
