I’m a german Shopify developer with over 5 years of experience working on e-commerce projects. My work focuses on custom Shopify development, store optimization, automations, and SEO foundations. I build and customize themes and apps using Liquid, HTML, CSS, GraphQL and JavaScript, and I regularly work with Shopify Flow and n8n to automate workflows and connect external tools. Projects I’m especially proud of include custom Shopify theme builds, clean migrations from WooCommerce and Shopware, and automation setups that significantly reduced manual work for store owners. I value clean code, clear communication, and solutions that are easy to maintain and scale over time.
What Printify experts do for Shopify merchants
Design. Printify gives you a Product Creator and a Mockup Generator, but no designer. Stores without one hire an expert to produce print-ready files, place them on each product and build mockups that show the item honestly. Two of the five experts here list design, UX and branding.
Publishing products. Products are created in Printify and published to Shopify, and shipping rates attach to each product as it publishes. An expert sets titles, descriptions, variants and collections so new Printify items sit comfortably beside the rest of your range.
Order approval. Shopify orders import into Printify automatically by default. What happens next depends on one setting: manual approval, one hour, 24 hours (the default) or a fixed time each day. On manual, nothing goes to production until someone clicks Submit order. An expert matches this to how your team actually works, because that window is your only chance to fix a wrong address or the wrong design before it's printed.
Shipping. One route is publishing Printify's flat-rate shipping profiles to Shopify. Stores on a qualifying Shopify plan can use the Printify Shipping Calculator instead. An expert picks the option that fits and checks nothing else on the store is fighting it.
Growth work. Printify's Expert Program terms describe experts improving a user's products, advertising and sales. On a Shopify store that can mean better product pages, new product lines or repairing sync after a bulk edit went wrong.
Choosing the right Printify expert
Printify runs an Expert Program for freelancers and agencies it selects, under published terms. Ask anyone on your shortlist whether they belong to it, and treat the answer as one input rather than the deciding one.
Look at their artwork first. Printify leaves design to you, so an expert's design portfolio tells you more than their app knowledge. Ask for print files they've prepared and the live products those files became.
Ask about order approval. A good Printify expert wants to know how fast orders should reach production and who checks them. If they never raise it, they're treating Printify as a plug-in rather than part of your fulfilment.
Ask what else touches your catalogue. Bulk editors and other shipping-rate apps can break Printify's product matching or its rates. The right person asks which apps you run before changing anything.
Red flags. No samples of print-ready files, plans to bulk-edit SKUs across the whole store, or a quote that never mentions shipping.
A sensible first task. Design and publish two products, set the approval window, and push one test order all the way to production. You'll see their files, their copy and how they handle the order flow before you commit to a full range.
Printify setup on Shopify: what a good expert checks
One Printify account per store. A Shopify store can only connect to one Printify account at a time. If a freelancer connects your store to their own account, your products and orders sit in it. Make sure the account belongs to you from day one.
Shipping Calculator plan rules. The Printify Shipping Calculator needs Shopify Advanced, Plus, or Grow on annual billing with the carrier-calculated shipping add-on. On any other plan, the route is Printify's flat-rate shipping profiles, which Printify itself calls the easiest option for Shopify sellers.
Rate conflicts. Other shipping-rate apps can clash with the Shipping Calculator and cause incorrect or missing rates at checkout. Test real carts in several countries after setup, not just one domestic order.
Bulk edits break matching. Printify recognises your products by their Shopify product and variant IDs and SKUs. A bulk editor that changes any of those breaks the link, and Printify can no longer match orders to the right product. Run any bulk edit past whoever looks after Printify first.
Exchanges. Using Shopify's exchange feature doesn't create a new order in Printify. Agree a simple process for exchanges, so the replacement item actually gets printed and shipped rather than waiting on an order that never arrives.
Plans. Printify is free to install, with product and shipping costs billed only when you make a sale. A paid Premium plan is also available. Check your monthly order count with an expert before paying for it.

Common Printify Shopify questions
Add the Printify app through the Shopify App Store and sign in to your Printify account. You then create products in Printify and publish them to Shopify, where shipping rates are assigned on publish. New Shopify orders import into Printify automatically by default. Remember that a store links to one Printify account only, so use an account you own.
No. Printify doesn't currently provide design services. Its Product Creator and Mockup Generator are do-it-yourself tools, and they work well if you already have artwork. If you don't, hire a designer who understands print files, or pick an expert from this page who lists design, UX and branding.
Manual approval means nothing goes to production until someone clicks Submit order. The default holds orders for 24 hours, and you can also choose one hour or a fixed daily time. Manual suits a new store that wants to check every order. Once volume grows, a timed window usually works better, as long as someone reviews orders inside it.
On Shopify the integration is the Printify app itself: publishing products, importing orders and handling shipping through flat-rate profiles or the Shipping Calculator. What causes trouble is usually another app nearby. Bulk editors that change IDs or SKUs break product matching, and other shipping-rate apps can clash with the Shipping Calculator.
Printify runs an Expert Program for freelancers and agencies it chooses, under published terms. This page doesn't show membership of that programme. The 5 experts here carry the Printify badge on their shopexperts profiles, so ask each one directly about their Printify work and whether they're part of the programme.
Because Shopify's exchange feature doesn't create a new order on Printify. The replacement has to be handled in Printify separately, or the customer waits for an item nobody is making. A good expert writes this into your returns process so whoever handles exchanges knows the extra step.
