I'm a Shopify developer with years of hands-on experience building and scaling e-commerce stores — from custom theme development to conversion rate optimization and third-party integrations. I've worked with brands like Après Nail and through platforms like Storetasker, delivering solutions that look great and perform even better. I specialize in Liquid programming, frontend development, and UI/UX enhancement. Whether you need a full theme build, a tricky app integration, or a speed and SEO overhaul, I bring a detail-oriented approach that gets results — not just code. I leverage AI tools like ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot throughout my workflow — drafting Liquid logic faster, QA-testing edge cases, and generating content-ready section structures. This means faster turnaround, fewer revisions, and more value for your budget. My background spans custom store builds, GA4 + GTM tracking setups, Klaviyo integrations, loyalty app configurations, A/B testing, and cross-functional collaboration with design and marketing teams. I treat every project like it's my own store on the line. I'm a Computer Software Engineering graduate and Growth Collective certified in Creative Website Design (Shopify). Let's build something that converts.

Thails is a Shopify Plus agency specializing in high-converting eCommerce experiences. Built on 8+ years of hands-on eCommerce expertise, we've helped 50+ global brands — including Absolut Elyx, Hey Harper, and GURU Beverage — grow revenue by optimizing their stores for conversion, UX, and performance. Our founder launched their first online business at 16 and has been obsessed with turning browsers into buyers ever since. That merchant-first mentality drives everything we do. What We Do: We combine custom Shopify Plus development with data-driven UX design and conversion optimization to create stores that don't just look great—they perform exceptionally. From new store launches to migrations and strategic redesigns, we partner with ambitious brands ready to scale. What Sets Us Apart: We own outcomes, not just tasks. We focus on revenue impact, not activity. Our clients average 25-35% improvement in conversion rates within the first 3 months of working together. We've been merchants ourselves. As store owners, we know that revenue is everything. We've experienced slow load times tanking conversions, poor UX killing AOV, and features that sounded good but added friction. That's why we're obsessed with optimization. We don't add complexity unless it drives growth. Every design choice, every line of code, every feature we implement is validated against one metric: Does this help your customers buy more? Results speak louder than promises. Our clients see 25-35% conversion rate improvements, reduced cart abandonment, and higher average order values. We measure success by your revenue growth, not by completion dates. Vela setups that justify outside help
Install is quick. The paid work is deciding what to let Vela’s AI touch, and what to keep as-is.
AI listing score triage. Vela scores every listing F- to A+. The temptation is to optimize everything to A+; the right move is to start with the F to C listings on the products that already sell. A good specialist filters by score and sales history, not just score.
Profiles that keep new listings consistent. Profiles are templates for titles, descriptions, tags and categories applied to new listings. Set up one per product category before you upload the next batch, so every new product arrives with your brand voice and SEO structure built in. Unlimited profiles live on the Plus plan.
AI bulk edit guardrails. Bulk editing titles, descriptions and tags across thousands of listings with AI is Vela’s distinctive feature — and the one that can quietly destroy SEO on listings that already rank. Before any bulk AI rewrite, back up current listings via CSV export, pick a sample of 10 to 20 bestsellers to review manually, and define what the AI should not change.
AI photo studio for the catalog. Custom AI backgrounds, auto-enhance and more. Decide which products get AI backgrounds (new launches, Etsy listings that need lift) and which keep original photography (hero products, brand-defining items). Advanced AI photo features live on Plus.
Cross-channel copy from Shopify to Etsy, eBay and Faire. Vela copies a Shopify listing onto Etsy, eBay, Faire or Instagram with channel-specific optimization. The catch: Etsy’s SEO rules reward different title structures than Shopify’s, and Etsy’s tag field is a ranking signal in a way Shopify’s tags are not. A specialist familiar with both channels adjusts the copy per destination rather than publishing identical text everywhere.
Scheduled publication for launches and sales. Schedule listing updates in advance so sale pricing, holiday copy and new launches go live at a specific time. Common pattern: schedule the price change, the copy change and the photo swap all for 00:00 of launch day, then confirm live by 02:00.
CSV import and export. Vela handles CSV import/export. For pure data operations — migrations onto Shopify, format conversions, large one-off backups — specialized data-import tools like Matrixify are usually a better fit. Use Vela’s CSV for Vela-specific round-trips.
ChatGPT integration. Vela lists ChatGPT as an integration. If you’re already using ChatGPT for product copy, decide which tool owns which step so you don’t end up with two sources of generated content fighting each other.
Vetting a Vela specialist
Vela is used most intensively by Etsy-plus-Shopify sellers, so pick a specialist who knows both platforms, not just one.
Ask about Etsy’s SEO rules specifically. Etsy ranks on title tags, the tag field, category and attributes in different ways than Shopify does. A good candidate explains how they’d adjust a Vela-generated title for Etsy vs Shopify, not just “I’d use Vela’s AI”.
Ask what they’d do before any bulk AI rewrite. Expect a plan: CSV backup, a 10- to 20-listing manual review, and a defined don’t-touch list for products that already rank.
Ask about Profiles. Setting up Profiles is the most repeatable Vela work. A candidate should ask about your product categories and brand voice before quoting.
Ask about pricing-tier awareness. Vela’s actual price scales with listing count on the vendor’s own site, not the App Store’s base price. A specialist familiar with Vela knows this and asks about catalog size before quoting the subscription cost.
Pitches to question. “Let’s AI-optimize every listing” (no — triage by score and sales history). Promising specific listing-score improvements without seeing current data. Not asking about Etsy or your other channels when they’re clearly part of your business.
Low-risk first task. Set up one Profile for one product category, use Vela’s AI to optimize 20 listings (10 Shopify, 10 Etsy), compare pre/post listing scores and sales after 30 days. If the results read right, extend.
Vela plans and setup details
Two plans on the Shopify App Store as of October 2026. Vela Lite at $19.95 a month covers AI listing scoring and optimization, AI photo studio, Profiles to create and manage listings, bulk edit of all listing attributes, cross-channel copy and channel activation, scheduled listing publication, and CSV import/export. Vela Plus at $29.95 a month adds AI bulk editing and listing optimization, unlimited Profiles and advanced AI photo studio features. Both plans include a 7-day free trial.
Pricing scales with listing count on the vendor’s site. Vela’s own pricing page (linked from the App Store as “See all pricing options”) shows plans that scale with listing count — one merchant review mentions paying $23.95 at the 1,000 to 2,500 listing tier. Confirm your tier price with Vela directly before committing, since the $19.95 App Store number is the base rather than the final.
Which plan to pick. Lite covers everything most stores need; the upgrade to Plus is practical for stores that will run bulk AI rewrites on thousands of listings or want unlimited Profiles for complex catalogs. Day-one stores can start on Lite and upgrade later.
Multi-shop setup is the core feature. Vela connects Shopify alongside Etsy, eBay, Faire and Instagram in a single interface. This is the app’s distinctive edge over Shopify-only tools: the admin is one place regardless of channel.
ChatGPT integration. Listed as an integration. Lets you connect your own ChatGPT subscription for content generation inside Vela, instead of or alongside Vela’s own AI.
Permissions. Standard scope for a listing editor: reads and edits products, variants, collections, images, prices, SKUs, tags, descriptions, inventory, metafields and orders. Discounts, images and barcodes are also writable. Review before install if your store runs other inventory-sync apps.
Reviews and track record. 4.5 from 239 reviews as of October 2026, with 86% five-star but a visible 8% one-star tail. A prominent August 2026 billing dispute between a long-time customer and the Vela team is public on the listing, and the vendor’s response calls the review “blatant lies”. The signal: Vela’s support is responsive but can turn combative when challenged. Factor that into expectations for how support disputes are handled.
Launched 23 August 2018 — a seven-year-old app. Not currently listed as Built for Shopify. English-only interface.

Vela questions from Shopify and Etsy merchants
As of October 2026, the Shopify App Store lists Vela Lite at $19.95 a month and Vela Plus at $29.95 a month, both with a 7-day free trial. Vela’s own pricing page — linked from the App Store as “See all pricing options” — shows plans that scale with listing count across all your connected shops. One merchant review mentions paying $23.95 at the 1,000 to 2,500 listing tier. Confirm your tier with Vela directly before committing; the App Store number is the base rather than the final.
Yes — Vela’s standout feature is multi-shop management, and Etsy is the most common second channel for Vela users. The app lists ChatGPT, eBay, Etsy, Faire, Instagram and Intercom as integrations. Many of the long merchant reviews mention juggling 2,000+ listings across Shopify and Etsy as the reason they picked Vela over Shopify-only tools or Etsy-only tools. If Etsy is the bigger half of your business, make sure the specialist you hire has worked with Etsy’s SEO rules, not just Shopify’s.
Only with guardrails. Bulk AI rewrites are Vela’s most powerful feature and the one that can quietly tank your SEO on products that already sell. Before any bulk operation: CSV-export the current listings as a backup, define a don’t-touch list of your top-sellers, and run the AI rewrite on a sample of 10 to 20 listings for manual review before scaling. A good Vela specialist refuses to run a full-catalog AI rewrite without these steps.
Different jobs. Matrixify is a specialized data import/export tool for Shopify — Excel, CSV and Google Sheets round-trips for migrations, bulk backups and large one-off data operations. Vela is a listing optimization and multi-channel management app — AI scoring, cross-channel sync, photo studio and ongoing bulk edits with AI. Many stores run both: Matrixify for one-off data operations, Vela as the day-to-day listing manager across Etsy and Shopify. They don’t directly compete.
Yes. ChatGPT is listed as an integration on Vela’s App Store page, which lets you use your own OpenAI account for content generation inside Vela instead of (or alongside) Vela’s built-in AI. Useful if you already have ChatGPT content standards your team follows. Decide which tool owns which step before launching, or you’ll get two sources of AI copy with slightly different voices.
Not for the install or basic use. The app runs from a web interface and most configuration is settings-level. You need outside help when the catalog is large enough that Profiles and bulk-edit rules need design, when multi-channel listings have to respect each channel’s SEO rules, or when AI bulk rewrites need the guardrails above. A product and catalog setup specialist or an SEO specialist with multi-channel experience is a better fit than a theme developer.
