MOTIF® is a creative-led brand and commerce incubator working with ambitious fashion, luxury lifestyle, beauty and wellness brands. We bring brand strategy, creative direction and ecommerce growth under one roof, helping brands build stronger identities and turn that attention into measurable commerce. Our work spans brand positioning, creative strategy, Shopify and ecommerce experiences, conversion strategy, paid media, lifecycle marketing and customer experience. We work across DTC and retail, with experience supporting brands selling into the US, Europe and the Middle East. Our approach connects three disciplines: Creatives, Commerce and Connection. Rather than treating branding, ecommerce and acquisition as separate functions, we design them to work as one system, from the first impression through purchase and retention. Our commerce stack includes Shopify, Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, Centra, Adobe Commerce and Salesforce Commerce, alongside Meta, Google, TikTok, Pinterest and other growth channels. MOTIF® has been building brands and digital commerce experiences since 2015. Today, we work selectively with brands where strong creative thinking and serious commercial execution need to coexist.
What a Klaviyo expert actually does on Shopify
Most Klaviyo problems on Shopify aren't copy problems. They're data problems: an event that never reaches Klaviyo, a consent status that didn't sync, a segment built on a property Shopify keeps replacing. A good expert fixes the plumbing first, then builds on it.
Setup and tracking. Connecting the store, switching on the Klaviyo theme app embed and confirming onsite tracking in Klaviyo's own settings. Then checking that Viewed Product, Viewed Collection, Submitted Search, Added to Cart and Active on Site all arrive, and syncing the catalogue, including Shopify Markets for stores selling in more than one country.
Flow architecture. Browse, cart, welcome and post-purchase flows triggered by real Shopify events, plus AI-powered segments and flow triggers built from historical and real-time data. Composer, Klaviyo's AI campaign builder, will assemble an on-brand campaign across channels. Someone still has to decide who should receive it.
Migration. Moving lists, flows, templates and consent records from another email or SMS platform, then rebuilding the logic around Klaviyo's Shopify events rather than copying old flows step by step.
Channels and consent. SMS, WhatsApp, mobile push and sign-up forms, plus consent app blocks on the thank-you and order status pages, and on checkout for Shopify Plus stores.
Integrations and headless. Sending events in from Shopify Flow, connecting other apps to Klaviyo profiles, and adding the hand-written onsite snippets a Hydrogen storefront needs.
Service tools. If you plan to run support inside Klaviyo through its helpdesk, Customer Hub or Customer Agent, ask directly whether the expert has configured them. It's a different skill from flow building.
How much does a Klaviyo expert cost?
All 44 Klaviyo-badge experts on shopexperts list a starting price on their profile. We pulled them in October 2026, in US dollars, ignoring any profile set to zero. A starting price is the floor of an expert's pricing across all their work, not an estimate for your Klaviyo job.

Klaviyo quotes move with the number of systems involved, not the number of emails. Adding SMS or WhatsApp brings consent work. A headless storefront brings manual tracking code. Pulling profile data from several other apps means mapping fields before anyone builds a flow.
For a quote you can compare, send your Shopify plan (Plus or not), whether the theme is Online Store 2.0 or headless, the flows running today, the channels you want and any platform you're leaving. Screenshots of your current flow list shorten the first call. The Klaviyo cost guide covers the subscription, which sits on top of any expert fee.
Klaviyo Shopify setup: tracking, consent and Flow details
Two tracking routes, not one. Klaviyo records Active on Site and Viewed Product through its theme app embed, while Viewed Collection, Submitted Search and Added to Cart arrive through the Shopify pixel in customer events. When a browse or cart flow goes quiet, an expert checks both routes before touching the flow.
The Flow connector shrank. Klaviyo retired the "Create a campaign" action in Shopify Flow on 16 October 2025. "Track an event" is the only action left, so any workflow that built campaigns from Flow has to become an event that triggers a Klaviyo flow.
Synced properties get replaced. Custom profile properties that come from Shopify, customer tags included, are overwritten on the next sync if someone edits them in Klaviyo. Changes belong in Shopify.
SMS consent syncs once. Consent collected in Shopify only reaches Klaviyo when the person subscribes to SMS for the first time. Anyone re-subscribing won't sync that way, so an expert audits consent sources before a large SMS send.
Checkout consent needs Plus. The SMS and WhatsApp consent app block works on thank-you and order status pages on every plan. Only Shopify Plus stores can place it on the checkout page.
Headless has two halves. On Hydrogen, the native integration syncs orders, catalogue and subscribers. Onsite tracking still needs code snippets added by hand.
Briefs go stale. Klaviyo Starter in Shopify now sets up a sign-up form, welcome email and abandoned checkout automation without leaving the Shopify admin, and only the store owner can run it. Klaviyo also sells helpdesk, Customer Hub, Customer Agent and Reviews, so a brief that treats it as an email tool alone is out of date.

Klaviyo experts: questions on partners, Flow and consent
Not necessarily. The badge shows that an expert offers Klaviyo work on their shopexperts profile. It isn't Klaviyo partner status. Klaviyo runs its own programme, K:Partners, for agency and solution partners, and its Agency Partner Directory displays level labels such as Platinum Master and Klaviyo Partner. If partner status matters to you, ask for the expert's directory listing and check it yourself.
This group splits almost evenly, 23 agencies and 21 freelancers. A freelancer usually fits a defined job such as fixing tracking, rebuilding one flow or adding consent blocks. Pick an agency when email, SMS and WhatsApp run as one programme with weekly campaigns, or when a migration involves dozens of flows and segments. Hire the smallest team that covers your real scope.
Usually, yes. Hydrogen and other headless storefronts need onsite tracking snippets added by hand. Custom events sent through the Shopify Flow "Track an event" action need fields mapped, and apps feeding profile data need checking. Copy, segments and send schedules stay marketing work. Of the 44 badge experts, 33 list Shopify development, so a developer isn't hard to find here.
Klaviyo retired the "Create a campaign" action for Shopify Flow on 16 October 2025, so any workflow built on it stopped doing its job. The remaining action, "Track an event", sends data from the workflow into Klaviyo. The fix is to have Flow track an event and let a Klaviyo flow or segment respond. Our guide to Klaviyo flows on Shopify covers the triggers.
Custom profile properties that Klaviyo receives from Shopify, customer tags included, are overwritten on the next sync, and Klaviyo advises against editing them on its side. Make the change in Shopify and let it flow through, or keep anything you want to manage in Klaviyo in a separate property. An expert building segments should know this before relying on synced tags.
Only on Shopify Plus. Klaviyo's consent app block collects transactional and marketing consent for SMS and WhatsApp on the thank-you and order status pages on any plan, but the checkout page itself is limited to Plus. Separately, SMS consent captured in Shopify only syncs to Klaviyo for first-time SMS subscribers, so ask how returning subscribers will be handled.
