Shopify CRM Integration Experts and Consultants

Plenty of brands shopping for a CRM already own most of one. Shopify keeps a profile for every customer and builds segments from it, even though it doesn't call itself a CRM.

Shopify CRM integration is for the point where that stops being enough: a sales team working wholesale accounts, reps who need a pipeline, or support and sales staff who must see the same customer record. The work is choosing a CRM that fits how you sell, then deciding exactly which data moves between the two systems and which one wins a conflict.

It isn't email marketing setup or helpdesk configuration, which both have their own services. Compare the CRM integration specialists below. You'll recognise several from the order management page, because the same firms often handle both.

How to choose a CRM consultant for a Shopify store

Hire for the decision before the build. A good CRM consultant asks three things in order: do you need a CRM, which one fits how you sell, and how should it connect. If the first meeting is a demo of the platform they resell, two of those questions have been skipped.

Ask for a sync map from a past project. A real one lists every field, which system owns it, which direction it moves and how often. It shows how they think far better than a case study does. If they don't produce one as standard, expect to discover the rules after launch.

Check what they know about Shopify's customer data. Shopify already holds tags, notes, marketing consent and dynamic segments for every customer in your store. A consultant who plans to rebuild in the CRM what Shopify already maintains is adding cost, not capability.

Ask how they'll clean the data first. Connecting two systems copies each one's mess into the other. Expect a clean-up pass on duplicate customers, inconsistent tags and old test orders before the first sync, and expect it to be priced.

Ask how failures surface. Syncs break quietly: a renamed field, an expired connection, a record that gets rejected. You want alerts to a named person and a weekly check of records that didn't sync, not a discovery three months later.

Red flags. Syncing every field "just in case". No plan for marketing consent. A CRM licence priced before anyone has asked who will use it every day.

Do you need a CRM for Shopify at all?

The test is who works the customer record. If the answer is a marketer sending campaigns, Shopify's profiles and segments usually cover it. A separate CRM earns its place when people manage relationships one account at a time:

- A wholesale or B2B pipeline with quotes, follow-ups and reorders.

- Sales reps who own accounts and need tasks and history in one place.

- Long quote cycles where the deal lives for weeks before an order exists.

- Support and sales teams who need to see the same record.

Once you've decided, five integration decisions matter more than which CRM you pick.

Who owns the customer record. Pick one system as the master for contact details and let the other follow.

Which fields sync, which way and how often. Orders usually flow from Shopify to the CRM. Account owner and deal stage usually stay in the CRM.

How duplicates merge. The same buyer can appear as a guest checkout, a wholesale contact and a support requester. Decide whether email, phone or company name is the match key.

How consent travels. Marketing consent sits on the Shopify customer profile. It has to move with the record and update both ways, or someone who unsubscribed gets emailed from the CRM.

What happens to historical orders. Full order history, summary fields such as total spend, or nothing before launch day. Each option changes the cost and what your team can see.

How much do CRM implementation services cost?

The CRM licence is a separate bill and isn't priced here. Setup and consultant rates reflect the wider market, while the starting-price tile shows what CRM specialists on shopexperts publish.

CRM setup, small business

$5,000 – $25,000

Configuration and integration; data migration extra

CRM consultant

$100 – $300

Per hour, US partners and agencies

Starting prices on shopexperts

$65 – $6,000

Median $345 across the 8 listed

Mid-size implementations for 10 to 100 users typically run $25,000–$150,000, and offshore freelancers typically start from about $25 an hour. On shopexperts, 8 CRM integration specialists listed this service in September 2026, 6 agencies and 2 freelancers. Treat a starting price as the entry point for a scoped first piece of work, not the cost of a full rollout.

Three things move the price most: how many record types sync beyond customers (orders, products, wholesale accounts), whether data flows both ways, and how much history needs cleaning and migrating. The number of users drives training and licence costs.

To get quotes you can line up side by side, send your customer record count, the tags and notes your team actually relies on, how you capture consent today, and which teams will work in the CRM each week.

What CRM integration services cover for Shopify stores

The first four are the core of any integration. The last two depend on how you sell.

Needs assessment

Whether Shopify's profiles and segments already cover what you need

CRM selection

A system matched to your sales process, team size and budget

Sync design

Field-by-field owner, direction, frequency and conflict rules

Data migration

Deduplication, historical orders and consent carried across

Wholesale pipeline setup

Accounts, reps, quotes and reorders linked to Shopify orders

Training and handover

Documentation, admin rights and a named owner after launch

Frequently asked questions about Shopify CRM systems

Is Shopify a CRM?

Not by its own description. Each customer profile does hold marketing consent, tags, notes and full order history, and Shopify builds dynamic segments from that data for Shopify Messaging campaigns and discounts. For a direct-to-consumer brand without a sales team, that covers most of what people buy a CRM for. What a separate CRM adds is a salesperson's view of the customer: deals, tasks and account ownership.

What is the best CRM for ecommerce?

There isn't a single answer, and shopexperts doesn't rank them. The right CRM for ecommerce depends on who will use it. A brand whose customers are all consumers often needs better use of Shopify's segments and an email platform, not a CRM. A brand with wholesale accounts and reps needs pipeline and task tools. Write down the daily jobs first, then the sync map, and only then look at products.

What's the difference between a CRM and an email marketing platform?

An email platform sends campaigns and automated flows to lists and segments. A CRM tracks relationships: who owns an account, what was discussed, which quote is open and when to follow up. Many consumer brands searching for a CRM actually need the first, and the email marketing service is the place to start. The two often run side by side, with the CRM sharing account data and consent status with the email platform.

Does an ecommerce CRM help with wholesale accounts?

That's where it earns its keep. Shopify's basic B2B tools, available on every plan, handle the ordering side. A CRM adds the selling side: prospect lists, quotes that haven't converted, rep assignments and reorder reminders. The integration question is how a company account in the CRM matches the buyer in Shopify, and whether a rep can see open orders without logging into the Shopify admin.

Can I connect a CRM to Shopify without a specialist?

For a simple one-way sync of customers and orders, often yes, since many CRMs offer a ready-made connector. Specialist help pays off when you need custom fields, two-way consent updates, duplicate rules, wholesale account structures or a clean-up of historical data. A sensible middle path is to install the connector yourself and pay a consultant for a few hours to review the field map before you switch it on.

Who should manage the CRM after it goes live?

One named person, with a backup. Their job is approving new fields, merging duplicates, watching failed syncs and deciding when a request needs the consultant back. Without an owner, teams add fields as they please and the sync map stops matching reality. In smaller brands this is usually part of an operations or sales lead's role rather than a new hire.
