Remote Shopify Experts for Morocco

Your team can run a Moroccan Shopify store in Arabic. Your customers can't check out in it. Shopify supports Arabic and French in the admin, but its checkout offers French and not Arabic — and that split shapes the whole store.

Payments add a second job. Shopify Payments isn't an option for a Morocco-based store, so a third-party payment provider handles every order and the catalogue is priced in dirham. The Shopify experts for Morocco on this page are remote hires, every one of them: agencies and freelancers working from abroad who accept projects from across Africa. Locally based profiles are almost absent from the directory for now.

That makes language a practical hiring filter. An expert who works comfortably in French can write and test the checkout your customers will actually see.

Tell the experts below which languages you sell in, which payment provider you're using and when you want to launch, and ask for a quote.

Shopify stores that earn their keep. I run Graftstudio, the technical and commercial lead for mid-market DTC brands on Shopify Plus. Brands bring me in when the store has outgrown the people who set it up. I find what it's costing, fix what the numbers say pays, and measure every change. In 15+ years I have partnered with over 160 brands that generate £80m in sales across their stores. Cult Gaia, Victoria Beckham, Gymshark, Seafolly and Ireland's largest salon group among them. I'm a Shopify Plus Partner, and three in four brands come back. I take on a small number of brands at a time, offering audits, fix sprints and fractional store ownership.

Thails is a Shopify Plus agency specializing in high-converting eCommerce experiences. Built on 8+ years of hands-on eCommerce expertise, we've helped 50+ global brands — including Absolut Elyx, Hey Harper, and GURU Beverage — grow revenue by optimizing their stores for conversion, UX, and performance. Our founder launched their first online business at 16 and has been obsessed with turning browsers into buyers ever since. That merchant-first mentality drives everything we do. What We Do: We combine custom Shopify Plus development with data-driven UX design and conversion optimization to create stores that don't just look great—they perform exceptionally. From new store launches to migrations and strategic redesigns, we partner with ambitious brands ready to scale. What Sets Us Apart: We own outcomes, not just tasks. We focus on revenue impact, not activity. Our clients average 25-35% improvement in conversion rates within the first 3 months of working together. We've been merchants ourselves. As store owners, we know that revenue is everything. We've experienced slow load times tanking conversions, poor UX killing AOV, and features that sounded good but added friction. That's why we're obsessed with optimization. We don't add complexity unless it drives growth. Every design choice, every line of code, every feature we implement is validated against one metric: Does this help your customers buy more? Results speak louder than promises. Our clients see 25-35% conversion rate improvements, reduced cart abandonment, and higher average order values. We measure success by your revenue growth, not by completion dates. Over the last 10+ years, I’ve worked as a freelancer, spent four years at a creative agency leading design, development, and client delivery, and now run a 2-person team that feels more like a creative partner than a traditional agency. We work closely with merchants who want a Shopify site that actually reflects the brand they’ve built — and can support where they’re going next. I’m most interested in projects where design, dev, and strategy all overlap — where there’s a real problem to solve, not just a template to swap.

Hiring across a border for a Moroccan store

Almost nobody in the directory lists Morocco as their base yet. The experts listed here are spread across other countries, and each takes on African clients, so you'll be hiring across a border. Set the job up for that from the first call.

Which language will you work in? Decide whether briefs, calls and handover notes run in French, Arabic or English, and hire someone fluent in it. Misread instructions cost more than any difference in rates.

When are they online? Agree a daily window of shared working hours and a named contact for urgent fixes. A checkout that fails on a Friday evening can't wait for Monday.

What currency is the contract in? Your shop takes dirham; your expert likely invoices in euros or dollars. Fix the contract currency, agree who bears exchange-rate movement, and pay by milestone rather than upfront.

Who owns what? Put the store, the web address, the provider account and each paid app under your company's name. The expert works through a staff account you can switch off.

Who else have they built for? Request one working store with Moroccan customers, then go through its checkout and its dirham pricing yourself. One relevant reference outweighs a dozen unrelated ones.

An expert without Moroccan references can still be the right choice for theme design. For payments and tax, insist on one.

Testing a remote hire before the real build

The quickest way to judge a remote expert for a Moroccan store is to have them show you the French checkout and the payment flow working, rather than describe them.

Ask about the language split. How will they organise product content in Arabic and French when the checkout only runs in French? Who writes and proofreads the French copy? How will order confirmation emails read? The good answers start with questions about your customers and end with a plan.

Set a small, paid first job. Ask them to connect your chosen payment provider to a development store, place a test order in dirham and send you screenshots of every step. Or ask them to translate your product page and cart text into French. Either takes a day or two and shows how they communicate against a deadline.

Put Morocco in the brief. Include:

- the languages you sell in, and the one your staff work in

- the payment provider you've picked and where your account stands

- delivery areas inside Morocco and any countries you ship to

- product count and current platform

- launch date, budget range and who approves work

Arabic admin, French checkout: setting up a Moroccan store

Before quoting for a Moroccan store, a good expert should raise four points.

Language, split in two. The admin supports both Arabic and French, so staff can work in whichever suits them. The checkout supports French but not Arabic. Your expert should plan product pages, emails and checkout text so the switch to French at checkout feels deliberate rather than broken, whatever language the rest of your storefront uses.

A provider Shopify doesn't run. Moroccan stores have no access to Shopify Payments, and Shopify's help docs send them to third-party providers instead. The expert connects the one you choose, checks it handles Moroccan dirham (MAD), and runs test orders through to completion.

Tax rates you enter yourself. Morocco gets one tax mode from Shopify, Manual Tax, rather than Shopify Tax or Basic Tax. The rates are typed into the admin or managed by a third-party tax app. Get the figures from your accountant, and ask the expert to document the tax settings in whichever admin language, Arabic or French, your staff use.

In-store devices from other sellers. Orders from Shopify's hardware shop can't be delivered to a Moroccan address. For a boutique or market stand, merchants source supported devices from third-party retailers, and your expert should confirm each one works before you buy.

Jobs Moroccan stores most often bring to an expert

Most remote engagements for stores in Morocco start with one or more of these:

French checkout and copy

Checkout, cart and notification text written and tested in French

Payment provider integration

A third-party provider connected and tested with dirham orders

Manual tax set-up

Accountant-supplied rates entered and checked against test orders

Two-language content

Product descriptions and pages organised for Arabic and French

Selling beyond Morocco

Shipping zones, currencies and payments for buyers abroad

Moving platforms

Catalogue, customer records and old URLs brought across to Shopify

Questions about hiring Shopify experts for Morocco

Do I need an expert who speaks Arabic, French or both?

For the build, French matters most, because it's the language of your checkout and that copy has to be right. Arabic helps if your staff will be trained on an Arabic admin or your product content is written in Arabic. An English-only expert can still do the technical work, as long as someone on your team owns the French copy.

Should I hire a Shopify expert in France for a Moroccan store?

Not necessarily. An expert in France will usually work comfortably in French, which helps with checkout copy, but language and relevant references matter more than location. Experts in Spain, the UAE or elsewhere can be just as good a fit if they write French well or you supply the copy. Judge the work first, then the address.

Should staff training happen in Arabic or French?

Whichever your team reads fastest. Shopify's admin supports both, so there's no technical reason to pick one over the other. Ask your expert to train in that language and to write handover notes with settings named as they appear on screen. Instructions written for an English admin slow everyone down when the menus read differently.

Why are there no prices on this page?

Starting prices on shopexperts come from the profiles of experts based in a country, and Morocco doesn't have enough of them yet for a figure worth publishing. Remote experts quote on scope. Expect the biggest swings from payment provider work, the amount of French copy to write or check, and any migration from another platform.

Freelancer or agency for a store selling in two languages?

A freelancer who writes good French and has connected a third-party provider before covers most first launches. Bring in an agency when you need design, copywriting in two languages and a migration done together, and want one contract covering all of it.
